Midwife temp and blood pressure check

Midwife Susie Meeks offers her opinion on my labor. (read the birth story)

Talking to my sister-in-law in Texas on the phone. Dilated to 8 cm, 90% effaced still waiting for contractions to kick in.

6 year old Mariah was the midwife's assistant during the labor and birth. Last minute instructions.

Mariah helps get some things ready.

Bath tub laboring. Highly recommended!

Bed layering. I used a plastic shower curtain over my mattress and disposable water pads tucked in between the bed mattress and on top of the sheets.

I have used this plastic / flannel backed table cloth for 3 of my homebirths. I purchased it for a couple of dollars on a seasonal clearance rack after Thanksgiving. The best floor covering and carpet protector.

The water doppler makes laboring in water much easier to check the baby's heart rate. No gel. No getting out of the tub.

Squatting during a contraction.

Labor sway.

Laboring in bathtub. Midwife coaches through hard contractions. Mariah offers ice chips and a cool cloth.

Newly born: Beautiful, Perfect

Praise Him from Whom all Blessings Flow.

Siblings look on at their baby sister.
