Bed layering. I used a plastic shower curtain over
my mattress and disposable water pads tucked in
between the bed mattress and on top of the sheets.

I have used this plastic / flannel backed table
cloth for 3 of my homebirths. I purchased it for
a couple of dollars on a seasonal clearance rack
after Thanksgiving. The best floor covering and
carpet protector.

The water doppler makes laboring in
water much easier to check the baby's heart rate.
